Poem/"rap"

Don’t tell me that behind the register is where I’m meant to be

With two degrees

I want to move on, not settle

So finding help is instrumental

I’m not ashamed but I’d rather be making change for the world than

Making change for groceries

I get it, maybe I don’t drive

But should that drive me away from every opportunity?

Is it my clothes? I like to shop no problem.

Let me pick up a suit and we’ll find a job that suits me

You may look at me and say Is she serious? Can she be?

I’m young and fun that does not lead to the conclusion that I can’t take life

Seriously.

And let’s be honest

While it may seem that I am only book smart, I have endured, I know pain, I have pushed through

Just because I know pain doesn’t mean doesn’t mean I am willing to share or I need to prove anything to anyone
